Stability in an Unstable World

stability in an unstable world

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Be a Strong Tower

You are called to project stability in an unstable world to those around you.

On the way home from a business trip to Rapid City, South Dakota we visited Devil’s Tower, our country’s first National Monument. It rises over 800 feet and covers about 1-1/2 acres of ground.

The “tower” is all that remains after everything else around it crumbled and washed away.

Rather than give credit to the devil, we always look for God’s original purpose or his redeeming purpose for something that is a worldly perversion.

Since the Lord is our “Strong Tower”, we see a Kingdom example in the “Devils’s Tower”.

It is a great symbol of two characteristics you have in Christ to always abound in life and business… especially during a flood of challenging times.

Be Steadfast

The first is that you be steadfast… in one place for a long time. This is someone who is not flighty, but can be counted on when things are shaken up. Others look to you as a person who is like a rock… because your foundation is the “Rock of Christ”.

Be Immovable

The second is that you be immovable. You’re not easily agitated or focused on when the world is coming to an end, but stable, grounded, and rooted in Christ.

You have an attitude that says, “I’m not moving until I see my God given desires and His promises come to pass!”

In these times people need to see what true faith looks like. You have a choice… to abound by being steadfast and immovable or to crumble away by being flighty and fickle.

God will use you in your business to be an example to the world of His unmovable, unwavering Presence. Jesus is the Rock and your strong tower… you are the visible evidence of Jesus Christ to the world.

You are “God’s Tower”!
