Encouragement Words

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Ephesians 6:9)

Encouragement Words Encourage Your Heart

Words of encouragement. Do you realize how powerful they can be?

We often gather with friends and business builders for leadership conferences or special events. Whenever we are with people who share a common mission, we come away encouraged.

That’s why Christians gather for worship, teaching and preaching. The same is true for entrepreneurs and workers engaged in Marketplace Ministry.

Encouragement is vital to your Christian faith and it’s vital for your business success. Your ministry calling will always place you crosswise with the world. If you are doing God’s will, there will be opposition, challenges, struggles, temptations, and times you just get tired.

#1 Source of Encouragement

Where does encouragement come from? Most Christians will point to scripture. But where did the Bible come from?

“God”, you may be thinking. Yes, but through who?

People. Encouragement words come from other people.

Men were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down the Word of God. And also remember that Jesus is the “Word made flesh”. The Son of Man. Jesus is a person! And for over thirty years He was human just like us.

Gather With Encouraging People

When your heart is synched up with your vocation, it becomes your calling. Then your work is your ministry each and every day. Ministry is challenging. You are doing Kingdom work and will face opposition. Count on it.

Hang out with people who speak “encouragement words”. These are people who share their real life stories to encourage you. These will be stories of overcoming. The thrill of victory and agony of defeat is common to all.

When you hear how the mighty hand of God is at work (pun intended), you realize your efforts are not futile. You will reap a harvest!

This week keep your ears tuned in to other people’s stories.

And then remember your own story. Yes, you have a story. Realize that your story may be the encouragement someone else needs.

Don’t ever forget how you were saved from the consequence of your sin. That’s the beginning of your story. Learn how to share it at any given moment. You can read our story here.

1 Minute Story Challenge

We believe every Christian should be able to share their salvation story in a minute or less. The same is true for your Marketplace Ministry story. Are you able to share your business/ministry story in a minute?

We have a great resource you can access that teaches you how to share your story in a minute.

Here’s your challenge. Use this guide to craft your one minute salvation story… then post it to encourage others.

Thanks for your encouragement. As a Christian apologist, I get challenged even further about the Bible’s credibility and source. (There are great answers to those challenges, but I won’t go into it here.) You are absolutely right in stressing community. In today’s day and age, many feel disconnected, and that makes them feel lonely and isolated. We were never meant to be alone! So, thank you for the reminders and the tips on how to share our stories to create a better sense of community. Many blessings to you!

      Howdy Lisa,

Fellowship is how we grow into mature Christians… if there is a mix of elders who are wise and christlike with those who are new believers, many who start like I did… really messed up. As we spend time together over the long term, the results are miraculous!

You are absolutely right our words are powerful. There is life and death in tongue, and we need to surround ourselves with encouraging people.

I was listening to a podcast this morning, and the author said when Jesus sent people out, he sent them out in two’s, I had never thought of that before, but its true.

I just finished writing a book about overcoming and it is with my editor now. My heart is to encourage women to seek Jesus and live authentically while growing in grace. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony. Love your 1-minute challenge!

May Jesus shine his face on your and your family today! Misty
We are made for community, but we need to be careful about the company we keep.

Misty, congrats on your book! I do online marketing for a publisher so I know firsthand the work involved in getting a book published. Let us know when it is available and we’ll help you spread the word.

    Hi

I’ve just read “Encouragement Words” and here’s my comment.

Sure, Words of encouragement are powerful.

Being in company with like-minded people is fuel for the soul.

The power of Christianity is found in the fact that its focus is what’s common for people rather than what sets us apart.

My favourite sentence of this blog post was:

“Encouragement words come from other people.”

    That’s a great point.

Jesus humbled Himself to take the shape of a human even though His God.

When we do what we do, it is as you say, so important to hang out with people who support us because at times it gets tough and there’ll always be some people who like to see us fail.

We all have a story to tell.

I’ll come back and share my story tomorrow.

    God bless!
